After defeating the British and forming a new nation, Americas' foreign problem began. A very old and familiar enemy Muslim jihadist pirates. As soon as America was fully recognized as a country, our Muslim enemy raided merchant ships killing or enslaving the Americans on board. Thomas Jefferson negotiated a treaty where he paid the government of Tripoli (were the pirates base was). The government of Tripoli agreed and took the money. Even though Tripoli took the money they did not stop, in fact, there attacks increased. When asked why he lied about the treaty the ambassador of Tripoli and Moroccan said "That it was founded on laws of their prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found. Also to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in battle was sure to go to paradise." Well I don't know about you, but that sounds purely and incredibly insane. For some odd reason it was another 8 years before the government did anything about it. In 1804, the first US marine mission was created by the men under Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon. There mission was to capture Tripoli and destroy the pirates. The attack on them was successful and was named the Barbary War. If we could only do the same today I say we KILL THESE MUSLIM TERRORIST.
